I’ve been a Weird Al Yankovic fans since I was a kid and first heard his Michael Jackson parody, “Eat It.” But his latest release, a parody of Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” is, in my opinion, his best work so far. The music video is absolutely hilarious, with lyrics and costumes that make fun of Gaga’s performance style and outlandish fashion sense. It features a super-imposed, CGI video of Weird Al’s head on a female dancer’s body who is wearing mock versions of some of Gaga’s most famous outfits as well as some original creations. [I love the Madonna references & the contortion at the very end]
Because Weird Al believes that the original song is “an important gay-rights anthem,” he decided to donate all proceeds from this single to the Human Rights Campaign. A noble act meant to balance the karma of spoofing a song with such a good & powerful message.
