Now whilst I have no major New Year plans - aside from eating all the party food, having a cheese board and wine, no doubt whilst wearing pjs - I can fully appreciate a good outfit!

Coast have opened a new concept store in Intu Metrocentre and being a fan of dressing up and girly outfits, I was pretty excited to pop along. Whilst there are concessions within the bigger department stores, standalone shops are always going to give you more variety - I know, since I was trying to hunt down this wedding outfit for some time, until I caved and bought it direct from their site.

This season there's everything from sequins, to feathers, velvet and lace. There's big skirts and dresses with all the volume, or more subtle pieces if you don't want all eyes on you. But let's face it. Christmas is the time of year where you can totally up the volume, add extra glitter and you'll never look overdressed.

I tried on so many items from knits, to a jumpsuit, one of their signature flowing skirts and a bit of a wild card dress (more on that later) in their luxurious changing rooms. We're talking walk in wardrobe style, seriously dreamy. If you're having a bridesmaid dress fitting, or you're out with the girls looking for outfits for a special occasion you can have your own fitting area to try on all your options.

With all the outfits you could want - did I mention some exclusive pieces are only available in the metrocentre store? - and some lovely, helpful staff; Coast really do make dressing up fun. Trust me, I now own a very 1920's flapper inspired dress with feathers - something I wouldn't have considered before but when I tried it on, that all changed! Just look at the way it moves! I just need an occasion to wear it, but that's no biggie... Any Gatsby style parties happening, I'll await my invite!
