I love, love, love the new Spring/Summer 2012 collection from Valentino, show today in the City of Lights.  Every piece was totally Dreaming Of... worthy and this is an example of an entire collection I would buy straight off the runway, if I had the money of course.
The best way I can describe this collection is clean.  The lines were incredibly simple, as they have clearly learned from Mr. Valentino that you don't need a lot of fuss to make a woman look and feel beautiful.
The color palette was also quite restrained, which allowed for my eye to focus on the incredible detailing in this collection.  This is thanks, in part, to their infusion of nude coloring into the color palette.  The light color really made their signature embroidery standout from the crowd.
And I even liked the scarce use of red within the collection.  It was a thoughtful choice, but one that made me really appreciate the red pieces that did pop up on the runway.  Just don't get me wrong, I am still a firm believer in the power of Valentino red.
