According to DPRK state media, State Affairs Commission (SAC) vice chairman and DPRK Premier Pak Pong Ju made a visit to flood damaged areas in North Hamgyo’ng Province, including Hoeryo’ng City and Yonsa and Musan counties. During his visit, “he encouraged the builders to perform labor achievements in successfully building the cradle of socialism….upholding the banner of the principle of giving priority of self-development, true to Marshal Kim Jong Un’s noble intention of prioritizing, respecting and loving the people.” He also attended consultative meeting where they “discussed the practical issues arising in finishing the construction….at an early date.” He also visited the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex, the Chongjin Steel Plant and Chongjin Port and “called for increasing iron and steel production and hastening transport of cement and other materials for rehabilitation.”
