Happy Friday! I’m kicking off the weekend sipping on a delicious little something…these Pacific Rim Margaritas! It’s 5 o’clock somewhere, right? 😉

The whole time I’ve been editing the photos for this post, I just keep playing the song “Patrón. Tequila. I’m drunk on margaritas!” over and over in my head. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, here you go.

Such a throwback – that song came out when I was in high school and was certainly not drinking tequila or margaritas.

These days though, I am most certainly legal to drink and love sipping on margaritas. I’m not a huge drinker, I usually just have one cocktail when I’m out to dinner with family or friends, maybe two.

Because I’m picky with my drinking, whatever I’m drinking has got to be delicious. I’m always a fan of deliciously flavored margaritas, especially when they’re made with high quality ingredients like fresh lime juice and Patrón tequila.

I remember my friends splurging on a bottle of Patrón for my 21st birthday, and we would always split a bottle for subsequent birthdays and special celebrations. A bottle of Patrón on the table is always a sure marker of a good time!

Of course…it’s best when mixed up in a delicious way for your sipping pleasure. This Pacific Rim Margarita hits allll the right flavor notes, and tastes incredible!

It’s got the classic Patrón Silver mixed with Patrón Citrónge Orange. A spicy jalapeno-infused coconut syrup adds the most incredible flavor – tropical, with a hint of spice. Of course, it wouldn’t be a margarita without some citrus.

Here, Yuzu juice and lime juice add that citrusy flavor. If Yuzu juice is unavailable around you, you can substitute with lemon juice. Just shake up your cocktail with some ice, strain into lime salt-rimmed glasses, and get sipping!

This Pacific Rim Margarita is bright, tropical, and citrus-y, with that amazing bite of heat from the jalapeno-infused coconut syrup. The recipe is part of Patrón’s “Margarita of the Year” competition, and it’s certainly earned my vote! See all the recipes by visiting patrontequila.com and casting your vote for your favorite!

Pacific Rim Margarita
Save Print Prep time 10 mins Total time 10 mins   Author: Rachel Conners Serves: 2 margaritas Ingredients
  • 3 oz Patrón Silver
  • 1 oz Patrón Citrónge Orange
  • 0.5 oz spicy coconut syrup (see Notes)
  • 1.50 oz Yuzu juice (see Notes)
  • 0.5 oz fresh lime juice
To garnish
  • Lemon wheel, to garnish
  • Jalapeno slices, to garnish
  • Kosher salt + lime zest, to salt the rim
Directions
  1. Combine kosher salt and lime zest in a bowl at least as large as your margarita glasses. Rub together to distribute the lime zest. Rub a lime wedge around the rim of your glasses to wet so the salt sticks. Dip the rims of the glasses into your lime salt to coat.
  2. In a cocktail shaker (or a large glass, if you don't have one), combine all of the margarita ingredients and shake with ice to chill.
  3. Strain the margaritas into your salt-rimmed coupe margarita glasses.
  4. Garnish each with a lemon wheel and jalapeno slice. Enjoy responsibly!
Notes To make the spicy coconut syrup, infuse a coconut syrup (like Monin or Torani) with a few jalapeno slices until the syrup becomes pleasantly spicy. Strain out the jalapeno slices and store in the refrigerator until ready to use.
If you can't locate Yuzu juice, you can substitute with lemon juice, white grapefruit juice, or a mix of 2 parts lemon juice: 1 part white grapefruit juice. 3.5.3226
