Continuing our tradition, below are our picks for the commercial ads we liked best from the 2014 Super Bowl Game. It’s encouraging to see more companies take an integrated approach to their Super Bowl marketing by incorporating other media (social, contests) to help drive the effectiveness of their traditional TV broadcast campaigns.

Radio Shack

You’ve got to love a company that makes fun of itself. Wasn’t your first thought? Oh… them, they’re still around? And then the reminder of all the things that reminded us of the 80s. Well done, Radio Shack. We’re now curious and are going to visit one of your stores again for sure.

Cheerios

We like this for its simplicity and subtle message about the product. Not just a product for kids but a smart choice for everyone.

Wonderful Pistachios

Nice bookend approach to getting their brand noticed. And we liked the strange head opening at the end, along with the eagle in the matching suit.

Chevy Silverado

A bachelor bull being taken to the ladies at the ranch, all while “You Sexy Thing” plays in the background… wow, we loved it!

On another note, what about those companies that didn’t advertise this year, but that took advantage of social media to piggyback on others’ TV ads. Stay tuned to tomorrow’s post about those that choose to Tweet instead.
