Orange cream and walnut brownies

I must say that these orange cream cheese and walnut brownies has the most fantastic combination, resulting a variety of texture and taste in every mouthful of these treats. I must say it is one of the best bake that I have baked with orange and chocolate!!! Very delicious!!!
Where did I find this fantastic recipe? It's from Cadbury Kitchen!
Why Cadbury? Whenever I think of chocolate, I can't help to relate chocolate with Cadbury. Yup! Not Callebaut. Not Valrhona! It's Cadbury! Thanks to TV. My brain tends to provide answers that are frequently told. Geez!!! Not forgetting the fact that the Cadbury milk chocolate is the chocolate that I had been eating since I was a kid. You know... As a kid in the 1980's, I would eat any chocolate that is sweet! LOL!
I need to clarify here that I'm not advertising for any chocolate companies... Just want to share and highly recommend this fantastic brownies recipe. That's it!!!

And, my apology for the delay of sharing this recipe. Funny that I have time to bake but no time to share the recipe in social media. Ops! Oh well... It is better late than never!

Here's the recipe mostly adapted from Cadbury Kitchen

Make one 20cm square or one 25cm x 15cm
For the brownies:
125g butter
120g dark chocolate, I'm using Callebaut dark chocolate callets with 70% cocoa.
150g light brown sugar - This is the reduced amount of sugar and the sweetness is just right for us.
3 eggs, lightly beaten
50g flour
35g cocoa powder - I'm using Dutch processed Valrhona.
1/4 tsp baking powder
1 cup walnuts, pre-roasted, roughly chopped80g dark chocolate, any brand but I prefer chocolate with 70% cocoa, roughly chopped in chunks
For the orange cream:
180g light cream cheese, 30% fat reduced
35g caster sugar
Finely grated rind of 1 orange
For the brownies:
Preheat oven at 180°C or 160°C fan forced. Line one 20cm square or one 25cm x 15cm baking tin with baking paper with 5 cm of excess baking paper overhang the edge of the tin.
Combine butter, chocolate and brown sugar in a saucepan and stir over a medium heat until chocolate has melted. Remove from heat and whisk in the eggs.
Stir in the sifted flour, cocoa and baking powder until well combined, then fold in walnuts.
For the orange cream:
In a small bowl, combine cream cheese, sugar and orange rind until smooth.
To assemble:
Pour half of the chocolate mixture into the prepared tin. Spoon half of the cream cheese mixture randomly over chocolate mixture. Repeat by pouring and spooning the remaining chocolate and cream cheese mixture into the tin. Make swirls by cutting through the batter with a round bladed knife to create a marbled effect.
Bake at 180°C or 160°C fan forced for 35 mins until firm. Cool completely in pan before slicing and serve.
Keep brownies in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
Happy Baking
