Three years ago, on this day
a Baby Girl blessing arrived
It was the 3rd of January, 2010 when she joined our family. Late, unlike her brothers who had each surprised me with their early arrivals. It had been 10 years between proverbial drinks, and in that time much had changed.
She is my third and last baby-child and her Daddy’s first … and only. We wanted her, hoped for her and of course love her dearly, but there will be no more.
Three years ago, today, I remember it well. Her birth was so very different to that of my first two and, as I’d had very little pain relief, it was the rawest of deliveries. Simultaneously furious, yet controlled, it took all that my 40 year old body had in it at the time. This Baby Girl, was also the heaviest and longest of my three. Could that be because her Dad is 6’4″?
Three years ago, today, our lives changed. Baby Girl brought a sense of completion to our blended family. The missing piece had been found and since then, in three short years, she has brought so much joy, laughter and delight into our world. It would be impossible to consider our family without her.
Happy 3rd Birthday dear Baby Girl. Thank you for enriching our lives, we all love you so much!
