Olly's Pooch Pack

Olly's Pooch Pack If you've read my blog you will be fully aware of my little cocker spaniel scamp called Olly.  He's a cheeky chappy and full of non-stop energy!
The other week the kind folk at Pooch Pack donated a pack for my four legged friend - a bit like these little nibble boxes out there for people, but for dogs!  We were both eager to find out more...
My main query about the pack was if this was going to be healthy for him?  A bit like how parents are with what their children consume, I like to make sure my dog isn't eating food that isn't good for him.   Fair enough we all can have a treat every so often...

When the Pooch Pack arrived Olly clearly knew something was in the box.  He could smell something yummy was inside wanted it and was sniffing around it and egging me on to get it open! Pooch Pack is a monthly subscription box filled with dog treats, toys and other goodies so it was no wonder he wanted in.
Let me give you a quick overview of my black and white fluffy friend; he's 3 years old, extremely hyperactive, interested in everything, and mention anything to do with food and he's your best friend.  That's pretty much all you need to know!

"Nom Nom!"

One thing that was mighty fun for Olly to play with was the blue plastic toy called the Roxxter from Dublin Dog Toys.  Basically the idea of the game was that you pop treats into the closed off toy and let the dog go mad trying to get them out!  Admittedly after the dog was entertained for a good few hours, I did shake the toy and let him have the biscuit inside!  However, it certainly burnt a lot of energy out of him - but then he proceeded regardless of it not having a biscuit inside, to carry it in his mouth for the rest of the day.  That was either because he loved it so much, or didn't want me to put anymore biscuits inside! The fabulous thing about this toy is that it had a slight hint of vanilla, so unlike other chewed dog toys this one remains smelling good!
Looking at the treats Olly had in his Pooch Pack, there was a fair bit I'd never seen in your standard pet stores.  It was almost like viewing a health pack for dogs, instead of it being full of biscuits and treats with not much nutritional significance... it was the opposite.  He had chewy Papaya and Sweet Potato treats, which went down very well, along with biscuits and other snacks. I did have to break the Papaya treats in two, as they were quite long for him to take, this may not be the same with your dog.  Olly tends to woof things down and gets himself in a pickle! My dog thinks if he doesn't eat something as soon as it's given to him, it won't be there.... I guess that's what comes from him being the runt of the litter and fighting for food as a pup.
Olly's favorite of the pack were the gorgeous looking bone shapes biscuits.  These almost slightly tempted me they looked that good!  They have been used for our dog walking incentives now, and live in pockets on our long treks.

After having the Pooch Pack there certainly was no complaints from my furry friend, he thoroughly enjoyed it!  Great bonus is that you can subscribe to the Pooch Pack which will come once a month - providing you with some sort of new toy and some great nutritional treats for your four legged friend.  You can do it as a one off treat (maybe Christmas?) or have it come to your door once every month.
"Every month around the 15th, we will send you a box bursting with delicious treats, quality toys and other goodies that will get your dog wagging. Delivery should reach your door within 3 - 5 days. You will discover products that you may have never heard of but your dog will love."
I do love the fact you don't have to worry about going out to buy various dog bits each month, it's a surprise each time and also I love the fact Olly would get a brand new toy to chew away at!  We all love a treat so why shouldn't your best companion have one too?!
