From Olympia, Washington comes OH ROSE, a trio that creates sullen, but beautiful music that sounds a bit like demo outtakes of a misplaced Burn Your Fire For No Witness session. Regular readers should know my fondness for this type of homespun, folk-tinted lo-fi rock and on new EP That Do Now See, OH ROSE offers this with a lot of heart. Especially on tracks like “Prom” and “Luke Rose”, frontwoman Olivia Rose’s empties her emotions and heartache with a charming and forceful voice that fits nicely with the rustic recording.
