October Hockey

The Pirates had a great run. A season I will remember forever, but now it's over until April. Now it's time to focus on our last place Steelers, and of course, the Pens! Hockey is back and it sure is great. October hockey at that. Last years lockout put me on hockey withdrawal until January, but not this year. One great thing about October hockey in Pittsburgh, is that there is no worries. I sit back, cheer like hell, but don't have anxiety attacks during the game. It's April, the Penguins are arguably the most talented team in the NHL, and it's a long season. Why get worried about this team early? It's almost a given that the Pens will be in the playoffs, so October/November hockey is just something to enjoy. Sit back and relax. Unlike April hockey, where I'm on the edge of my seat the entire game, sweating profusely, screaming, yelling, pacing, and crying. I'm not complaining about April hockey, it's more fun when we win, but more heartbreaking when we lose, I'm just saying it's nice to be able to enjoy the art and craft of hockey early, followed by a big playoff run later.
