Oaked Robust Porter – Blindman Brewing

By Mike @mikescraftbeer

From Blindman Brewing out of Lacombe Alberta comes their "Oaked Robust Porter". The beer pours a deep brown colour with a brown head. The aroma consists of roasted malts, ash, smoke, caramel and coffee. The flavour is of ash, burnt coffee, roasted malts, smoke, caramel, oak, some fruit and a semi sweet finish. The alcohol content comes in at 6.5% with an IBU of 31. While not overly oaky this was a nice porter and if you can find a bottle pick it up.

Commercial Description: smoky, full-bodied porter aged in french oak barrels previously filled with malbachlended 2:3 with freshly brewed porter
