It was back in December that someone first asked me what I was going to do when I fulfilled my three searches.  I couldn’t believe that the thought had not dawned on me before this moment.  My initial reaction was to panic but since then, I’ve come to realize that even when all three searches have been “found”, there will always be continuing journeys and more to discover within those three searches. Once the venue is found, the party needs to be planned.  Once the apartment is found, it needs to be decorated (and then forever improved).  Even once I find my forever man, relationships take work and are ever evolving.

So with that said, I would like to introduce you to the first phase of my newest find — my apartment! (Gosh, I have waiting a long time to share this post!)

I’m lucky to have a mom with a great eye for interior design (as well as an older sister and her amazing boyfriend who have enabled my love of the Kate Spade home collection).  Who knew yellow, orange and gray are the perfect trio? I certainly did not until my mom pointed it out to me.  She helped me to design my dream room which is quickly becoming one of my favorite places to spend time.

The room is still not totally complete, but I wanted to share a sneak peak with you!

I decided that my collection of Kate Spade necklaces is too gorgeous to be seen only when I wear them, so I bought this shadow box to display my three favorites in (the center one was my first and while some may think its too glitzy for every day, in my opinion it can and should be worn with everything to anywhere.

One of my other favorites in the room is my collection of Chanel pictures.  I must admit, I “borrowed” the idea from my mom, who has them on display in our downstairs bathroom.  There is something timeless about the selection but they are also fun enough that they make me smile when I look at them.

I think one of my best finds was my ikea night table.  I didn’t want the traditional night stand that matches the dresser so I went for this wrought iron base, glass top table to hold my favorite candles and colorful lamp. I mean, what else is a night stand for?

I’m still working on some of the less important details like, you know, the dresser, mirror and bed but promise to share pictures of the completed elements within a few days.

You’re probably wondering why I haven’t mentioned one crucial piece of furniture that any blogger must own – a desk.  That’s because I am still deciding if I want one.  If I decide to get a desk, it would be primarily for blogging.  But I have never blogged from a desk before.  I find myself more comfortable out and about people watching at Starbucks or in the comfort of my own bed (which is quickly filling up with show pillows!)  I haven’t decided if this is something I want to change but have the perfect desk in mind if I choose to do so.

So, here we have it, the perfect example of a search that has been found but still has many more developments to come.

XoXo,

MTS
