Over the past 25 years, The Halal Guys have grown from a popular food cart in New York City to have multiple brick-and-mortar locations throughout the United States. Tonight, I was lucky enough to be one of the first to get a sneak peek at the place and see what all the fuss was about. The fast casual concept, offers a simple mix of various Middle Eastern favorites. Choose from Chicken, Gyro or Falafel and create a sandwich (made with Pita bread) or a platter served with their famous hot or white sauce and choice of toppings. Add sides like fries, hummus or tahini with Pita bread. Want something sweet? They have Baklava at the register. And that's it. Their menu motto is clearly KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid). And frankly, it's perfect.  According to their press release, "The Halal Guys aim to be different and encourage patrons across America to ditch burgers for something unique. They pride themselves on only using high-quality products like their chicken, which has never been frozen and is marinated and seasoned overnight, then cooked and chopped on the grill and served directly to their plate to ensure a crave worthy meal that's piping hot. The Halal Guys’ mission is to ensure that every customer leaves happy, with a smile on their face and a satisfaction that brings them back again." Their first Dallas location will open to the public this Saturday, July 23 at 5444 Lemmon Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75209. The first 500 people in line will get great swag: scratchers, t-shirts, sunglasses, and hats! One super lucky guest will get FREE food from The Halal Guys for a month! The fun starts at 11:00am, so get there early for the goodies! http://thehalalguys.com/
