Don’t ask me why I’m doing a nursery reveal when my little guy is almost a year old!  Nothing like selling your house to get you motivated right?!  Anyhow, we had the basics done when the little one was born.  I just needed to add the finishing touches.  So VIOLA!  It’s done… and NOW we move!

Just in case you missed it, I did a baby inspiration post before my little man arrived, and most of this room is the fruition of that post.

Gender Neutral // Since we weren’t sure if we would be blessed with a boy or girl, we painted the room a neutral and cool grey, something soft and classic.

Art, Patterns, and Texture // I LOVE the play of different patterns, colors, and textures.  We found the sage green patterned rug at Crate and Barrel on sale.  Since it was 100% wool and rather itchy, I layered a Flokati rug on top.  Etsy is one of my FAVE place to find great art!  The key piece in the room is that gorgeous print from Emma Lawrenson.  It has the perfect balance of feminine and masculine colors and tied everything together.  The mamma and baby elephant graphic is so darling.  We got Little M a felt bee mobile because he loved the “welcome home” decor that my sweet SIL put up in the house, which included hand-made bees!  The pieces that mean the most to me are made with love from friends and family.  My best friends, Elizabeth and Michelle, made that canvas with the quote, “Not flesh of my flesh, Nor bone of my bone, but still miraculously my own.  My love my child is infinite.  You weren’t born under my heart but in it.”  I LOVE it.  The little boy praying cross was made by Mr. S’s uncle.  And the Brooklyn Bridge photography was shot by my cousin, Bryce.  He is SO TALENTED!  Not pictured is a hand knitted blanket from my BFF, Mashawna.

Lighting // I found this fun chandelier at Lowes, which is almost IDENTICAL to the IKEA Knappa lamp.  Lighting helps to finish the room.  It’s the “final touch”!

Crib // I was OBSESSES with the Ouef Sparrow Crib, but NOT the price.  The alternative that I found was the Babyletto Hudson Crib – Simple, Modern, and Safe.  It converts to a toddler bed so we will be able to use it for awhile.  {It was around at the time, but this Ti Amo crib has the same modern look.} Mr. S and I discussed whether or not we should get “forever” furniture that would “grow” with our child into adulthood.  We felt like this was good for our current lifestyle.

Rocker // It’s not a glider and Mr. S really doesn’t like it at all!  Because we were limited on space, I felt like it was a good alternative.   And throwing an Ikea rug on it makes it so much more cozy.  You’ve seen some pics of the little guy on it.  HE loves it!

Dresser/Changing Table // Since Little M’s nursery doubles as a guest room, I spruced up a very “adult” dresser by changing the knobs out for a sweeter look and adding a changing pad on top.  I still LOVE those owl knobs!   Little M’s next room will be his own, so he’ll be getting a new dresser.  I’m thinking about the matching Babyletto dresser!

The Little Things // In the crib, there is a convertible monkey blanket/backpack.  I had purchased two of those from BARNEYS years ago when my nephew was born hoping to have it for our baby on the way.  My nephew is in first grade already!  Crazy how things go but we are SO GRATEFUL for the miracle of our baby boy!!

I guess I’ll be doing an infant room reveal after we move to the new house!  Happy Wednesday Friends!
