Not Another New Year’s Post! | Midnight Ramblings of a Mad Woman*

By Vividwinter

Not another New Year’s post…..I’m afraid it kinda is guys but I’m a little late!

You know that feeling you get when you’re so inspired to do something that you just want to get up and do whatever the thing is? Well, that’s me right now. Bouncing around in my seat. Trying to concentrate and getting nowhere because of the multitude of ideas in my head. That’s why I’m sitting up at midnight frantically typing this post. It’s because I’m inspired by the ‘New Year’ and raring to go!

I’ve basically just missed sketching and art so much that I feel like it’s time I got back into it. So here’s my idea…… and it’s all inspired by this old (empty), rather unimpressive looking sketchbook. And make-up of course!

Seen as I’m still learning how do my own make-up and am faced with an infinite number of ways that I could look, I’m going to document them instead of attempting everything on my own face.

Sounds rather…. ‘uh…huhhhhh??’ doesn’t it?

I get you. But what I intend to do is not your run of the mill make-up concept, back of the make up palette ‘get the look’ type thing it’s more kinda sorta mixed media art and work with different textures and a type of 3D type cosmetic art…. This probably makes no sense because I’m half asleep as I type this…. i know what I mean in my head. Perhaps these pictures will help?

For example, you see how there are what looks like jewels and gems around the eyes…. it’s pretty simple really, if I were to do something like this, I’d put jewels and gems around the eyes. Hopefully I’ll be able to create things that are a bit more complex and dramatic but who knows. I don’t know yet that I even remember how to draw or paint but the idea is there and after a good nights sleep I’m going to run with it!

If this makes any sense to anybody and you have any ideas for me then please, please do let me know. Any help with a new project is always welcome and I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Sleep well my dears!

Lauren*
