No Seiyuu No Life: Risa Taneda

Posted on the 10 February 2015 by Kaminomi @OrganizationASG

Well, now that things are official I think I can tell you. Or maybe I can’t. I wonder if you’re even interested in my life. You probably aren’t. But you probably are going to get jealous when you’ll know that I’ll be flying to Japan on March 23rd and that I am planning on staying there for a whole year.

So, jealous now? If you’ve got questions, ask in comments because if I don’t start writing my column now I now someone who will not be happy…

Today’s subject of my column is a young girl called Risa Taneda.

No Seiyuu no Life: Risa Taneda
Known for: Mirai Kuriyama (Beyond the Boundary)

My favorite role: Kaori Miyazono (Your Lie in April)

This young girl, who is actually older than me, seems like she is slowly gaining in popularity. She seems to be getting a lot more major roles than she did in the past and I find, obviously that this is a great thing.

I didn’t notice Mirai a lot in Beyond the Boundary, to be honest, I even think I found her a bit annoying. Or rather said, very annoying. But I think my problem was more with the character than it was with the voice actor. I am very glad I didn’t stop at Mirai and went looking a bit deeper into Risa Taneda’s career.

As I said though she wasn’t bad as Mirai, I even think I might have shed a little tear at her performance, but the role who really made me start to fall in love with Risa Taneda is Kaori in the currently airing anime Your Lie in April.

Kaori is a musician and I can’t really tell what comes next because that would be a spoiler but let me tell you it’s quite depressing for what’s supposed to be a shoujo.

Either way, I cried in front of Your Lie in April, I don’t remember how many times I cried in front of this anime. Not only because of the story but also because of the performances of the voice actors. I might even write a column about the other one of these days.

What I wanted to say is that Risa Taneda‘s performances routinely make me cry and if that isn’t the sign of a great seiyuu, then I don’t know what is.

Last week you chose Daisuke Ono. I am not sure how I feel about that. I mean, he is great but at the same time it’s starting to get a bit tiring to hear him everywhere.
