Niko Pro Ova Brushes

I'm an Instagram stalker. I admit it (@hollysbeautybox just FYI). As all of my fellow insta addicts will know, it is a hub of beautiful things you can't wait to get your hands on. One of those things were the Oval brushes that saw even the most inexperienced makeup fan blend like a Goddess.

I came across the brand one day when I was browsing through Very and reached out to them to let them know I exist in the monsoon of bloggers out there. Luckily for me the brand was absolutely delightful and offered to send me a set of brushes to try out.
Firstly, they have a white handle. I am almost as obsessed with White as I am with Rose Gold so this was a 'Kids first time at Disney' type of experience for me.
The brushes remind me of old school shaving brushes that used to have really tightly compacted bristled and a long handle. Obviously these are much more advanced and high tech, so I was excited to give these a whirl.
The set comes with five brushes of different 'head' sizes. The largest of the brushes are perfect for base products such as foundation and contour, whereas the smaller brushes are ideal for eyes, concealer and highlight.
I swished my foundation around with one of the big brushes on my face like a pro and my whole face was covered within 60 seconds. I was a little scared that the harsh movement and heavier brush head would mean the handle might break, but these are perfectly designed to manage this.
Onto contour. Just call me Kim K! Haha! I applied some contour as normal but used a medium sized brush to blend and it was just perfection.
One thing I did notice is the brushes are far more suited to cream products than powder. I tried to use the smaller brushes for my eyes and found them a little tough if I'm honest. I used them with a cream shadow and it worked brilliantly but even contour and highlight works best with cream products so not to make dents in powder products due to the density of the brushes.
Aside from that, I am pretty impressed with them. I don't quite look like an insta girl yet but I'm working on it haha!
Have you tried the brushes out? You can find them here.
