Nic's Beauty Bargain Picks

By Nicelise
Nic's Beauty Bargain PicksWhile I do have the tendency to splurge on some beauty and skin care products, there are some products I have found and come to love that won't break the bank.
I absolutely love using highlighters. They really just give you such a dewey and flawless look. While I did splurge on Too Faced Candlelight Glow Highlighting Powder Duo, I also found two bargain highlighters that I love.
E.l.f. Essential Shimmering Facial Whip in pink lemonade had been compared to Benefit's High Beam, except that E.l.F.'s whipped highlighter is only $1. The color is I love using this highlighter on the top of my cheek bones and down the bridge of my nose. I usually apply it after moisturizer, tinted moisturizer or a CC cream and will dust a powder foundation or translucent powder over my whole face. It really brightens up my whole face and gives my skin a radiant glow. This particular product comes in a number of colors, but I haven't tried them all yet. I found this product at Target, but I believe this line is carried at many drug stores.
Another bargain highlighter I really like is Nyx's Born to Glow liquid illuminator in Gleam, which is a golden peachy pearl color. When I use this highlighter, I apply it the same way as the E.l.f. whipped highlighter, but this product and this color gives you a different effect. It's much more of a warm, bronzy glow that looks amazing on tanned summer skin. This highlighter is only $7 and I found it at Ulta.
Nyx also makes a bargain lip product that I love and use almost every day. The line's color lip balm is the best of lip balm and lip stick. It goes on really smooth, but it is super pigmented. I really love the colors Merci and Xie xie (two pink colors), Spasibo (nude) and Sukriya (a rich red with hints of orange).
The most recent beauty bargain product I started using is Nyx's Jumbo Eye Pencil. They are thick pencils perfect for swiping over your eyelid for a shimmering base color, in the inner corners of your eyes on your bottom lash line to brighten and open up your eyes. I have been using the colors Yogurt (a shimmering light, neutral pink) and Sparkle Nude (a light, neutral gold with flecks of glitter). I will use these by themselves or create a smokey look by using them as a base and blending dark browns into my crease. These eye pencils are $4.50 each.
I have sensitive skin, so I usually use skincare products on the more expensive side, but I recently discovered the Simple brand. I really like their facial cleansing wipes and eye makeup remover. I use the facial cleansing wipes to remove most of my makeup before I go to the gym and the eye makeup remover to take off pesky mascaras and eye liners that regular cleansers can't remove. The wipes are $4.99 and the makeup remover is $5.99.
What are some of your favorite bargain beauty products and brands?
xoxo Nic
