After “Preacher” another Garth Ennis comic, “The Boys”, is becoming a TV series. And, surprise surprise, Seth Rogen is involved again.

Apparently Garth Ennis and Seth Rogen are getting along really well because the two of them and Evan Goldberg will work again on another comic book adaption project. After “Preacher” they want to bring “The Boys” to the screens, more precisely, to Cinemax.

The comic is a about a superpowered CIA squad that watches over the superheroes of the world. Many of them are corrupted because of their stardom and compromise the safety of the people on earth. That’s where “The Boys” come in and resolve such problems, sometimes with a lot of violence and of course always with a lot of black humor. The comic series ended in 2008 and had 72 issues.

First there was supposed to be a movie based on the comic but as it turned out, the story was easier to adapt to TV. Erik Kripke (“Supernatural”) will be writing the pilot and Goldberg and Rogen will be directing it. Since the trailer for “Preacher” was very promising, I hope they will do the same job with “The Boys”. From one fan to another: Seth Rogen, don’t screw up my two favorite comics!
