New Solo Project from Foxygen Drummer [stream]

Last summer felt like the “summer of Foxygen“, but news is in that Shaun Fleming, the band’s drummer, now has his own solo project under the monicker, Diane Coffee. Given that he’s already released the single, “Hymn”, a sort of new-age psychedelic waltz piece crossed with a 60s blues rock jive, and announced his debut LP, My Friend Fish, The Wild Honey Pie troupe is very much looking forward to what’s on the horizon. ”Hymn” was apparently written whilst Fleming was down with a flu-like virus and, according to Line of Best Fit, was locked away in his Manhattan bedroom with a “detuned guitar, half a drum kit and his iPhone [in] hand.” With a mixture of tambourine, organ and bluesy guitar and muffled vocals, it’s really a slightly erratic yet strangely addictive tune.
