New gTLD .Health Ends Sunrise Period With 287 Registrations

Posted on the 10 July 2017 by Worldwide @thedomains

The .health registry ended their 60-day Sunrise period on Friday, June 7th, with a total of 287 total applications, none of which were in contention, so there will be no sunrise auctions for .health.

All domains will be provisioned on Monday evening, July 10th.

Jose Rasco, CEO of dotHealth said:

“As an extension, we are focused on building a meaningful space. Combined with the fact that we have allowed for an LRP phase limited to the health industry that starts later this month, this number of registrations during Sunrise is in line with our expectations,” said . “Sure, higher numbers would be great and enable us to further communicate our vision, but at this point our focus is on the credibility of the space, not the volume.”

Other interesting data related to .health Sunrise:

● Top 3 registrars for .health Sunrise were:
○ MarkMonitor (82)
○ Corporate Domains (80)
○ Key-Systems (41)

● 67% of Sunrise registrations were by companies in the health industry – including BlueCross BlueShield, CVS, Johnson & Johnson, Mayo Clinic, Pfizer, United Healthcare,
and even startups like Oscar (which is currently using hioscar.com).

● Many well-known brands outside of the health industry, but with health interests, also secured their names – including Apple, Facebook, Google, Uber, Wal-mart… and even
Taylor Swift.

The next phase of the .health launch is called “Industry Access” – which starts on July 20th and is a limited registration period, during which only members of the health industry can register domains. All registrations during Industry Access will require a token provided by the .health registry, which can be applied for via their website at www.get.health
