Netflix to Adapt an ‘Unfortunate’ Series

Were you left angry and upset about movie adaptation of A Series of Unfortunate Events back in 2004? Did you leave the theater thoroughly annoyed and cover your ears anytime someone mentions that travesty of a film?

Well, put your hands down and take a seat, because Netflix has acquired the rights to Lemony Snicket’s series and are planning a live-action adaptation.

Deadline reported that Netflix is currently searching for a director for the project, and that the author will have “full involvement”. The project, which is being produced alongside Paramount Television, will be one of Netflix’s many family-friendly ventures.
