Nelsan Ellis (Lafayette Reynolds) is joining the Stanford Prison Experiment according to a new report from Deadline. He joins an ensemble cast of actors including actress Olivia Thirlby for the film about an infamous 1971 psychological exercise that split students into prisoners and prison guards and the shocking behavior they committed in those roles.
Nelsan will play Jesse Fletcher. The reports don’t mention what role the character had in the actual event.
No word yet on when filming is set to begin or when the movie will be released.
