Nektar Honey Crystals Matcha Honey Oatmeal

By Fitfulfocus @fitfulfocus

Welcome one and all to this fine Tuesday. Are you ready for those #RockYourCore Russian Kicks? I always feel like I should take a shot of vodka after I do them. Ole! Oh, wait… that’s not Russian. I’ve never been good at languages…

Anywho – onto things I know more about – like Oats! I’m the Queen of Oats. Yup. I crowned myself cause I’m baller like that. Sorry if you weren’t invited to the coronation. It was just immediate family, really.

I’ve been having oats pretty much every single morning for all of winter (which, in case you haven’t caught all the posts where I’m bitching about the winter is pretty much forever and eternity. I think it’s finally coming to an end, though, which negates what I just said. Winter has made me crazy. I digress…). I’ve made these oats and these oats. Oh and these, too! I was wanting to come up with a new oat recipe when luck struck.

I was introduced to a great new product by Patty from Reach Your Peak. It’s these little packets of wonder called Nektar Honey Crystals. Basically they are little individually wrapped packets of honey in solid, crystalized form. So instead of dealing with a globby mess of liquid honey that a) won’t come out of the bottle, 2) won’t come off the measuring spoon, or lastly, makes everything a sticky ol’ mess, you can just sprinkle in some granulated honey instead. It works in hot & cold beverages, in marinades, in baking, and in, you guessed it, oatmeal!

Which brings me to: Matcha Honey Oats!

Like green tea. In oat form. Nailed it. I know. Bow down to your Queen. Allow me to tell you more, my gracious subjects:

One little packet of honey has the sweetness equivalent to 1 teaspoon of liquid honey and is only 12 calories. It’s Grade A honey that’s 100% all natural, gluten free, GMO free, and made in the good old US of A. I mixed one packet in with some matcha for some tea-rrific oats.

I love that I can just throw some packets in my purse and add them to tea or yogurt or whatevs I’m having on the go. (I never say whatevs. I really don’t know what winter has done to me. I don’t even know who I am anymore!)

Or I can bring them to work and make these oats in my office kitchen! Bazinga.
