Nature Republic Snail Solution Booster, Emulsion, and Cream Review

By Urhappybunnie @joaniebunnie
Finally I'm on my last beauty item from my November BNT Beauty Box! This time I have the Booster, Emulsion and Cream from the best selling Snail Solution Line of the brand, Nature Republic.
I was really intrigued and quite excited to try this product out particularly because EXO is endorsing the brand. Hello, 12 handsome guys are endorsing this brand, it might be good!

But then... I read Kim's review on this product and hesitated quite a bit because there were some things that she didn't like about it and I guess I had to try it for myself to see if it's a yay or nay.
Basically, this product is derived from snail slime which possesses medicinal properties and treats a variety of skin condition. It moisturizes and protects skin, helps promote the natural healing process, enhances skin's ability to recover, dissolves dying cells, triggers skin regeneration and repair and helps the skin produce antimicrobials that fight infection. It also treats acne, stretch marks, scars and sun damage.

The packaging for this line is snail colored themed since everything is in olive green and yellow. The booster and emulsion is in a travel sized, hard plastic bottles which is a pain in the neck in terms of dispensing the product. I wish they came in a thinner, squeezable plastic bottle instead so I wouldn't find it so hard to actually get some product on my hand. As for the cream, it comes in a heavy, sturdy and big jar that is quite frankly a waste of packaging since the product itself is in a smaller, hollow plastic container inside. Each are labeled with different numbers - Booster 90, Emulsion 80 and Cream 70. I'm not really sure how those number play out for the use of the products but my initial guess was it's for the order of product application. I did some research and this is what I found:

If anybody can translate this for me and let me know what the order for the entire skin care line I would very much appreciate it. It's confusing because as I can see in the photo above there are other products of the same number but in a different order. It would be much efficient if the products came in a box with English directions but alas, these product just came in a plastic set. As Kim also pointed out in her own review of this product, you can easily mistake the booster and emulsion for one or the other and you can very easily apply the products in the wrong order.

So apparently, this three-step process starts with the booster. The product is clear and really slimy but actually feels really nice on the skin. It also sinks well on the skin especially if you apply it right after washing your face and the pores are still open.  Nature Republic Snail Solution Booster, Emulsion, and Cream Review
Heading on to the next step which is the Emulsion... This is actually much thicker than the Booster and has more of a white color rather than the Booster which is completely clear.

The last step is the Cream application which is an opaque white color and has a more sticky or tacky feel to it rather than being plain slimy and slippery in comparison to the Booster and Emulsion.

I was most concerned when Kim's review included her observation of a sour, acidic smell to it but I didn't have the same experience. In fact, I think it has a bit of a fresh, floral scent to it that is very subtle and similar the Mizon Returning Starfish Cream that I have reviewed days ago. In my opinion, you might not even notice any scent from the Snail Solution products if you're not looking for it. Though I didn't have any problem with the scent, I was getting headaches a few minutes after all the product application. I thought that I just wasn't feeling well when I tried it on the first time but it still held true the following nights I used it.
Setting my migraine aside, the product is actually really good in moisturizing the skin, although it leaves a feeling of stickiness even when you wake up in the morning. If you can get past the feeling of a sticky face when you wake up then this product is a must try. After adequately trying it out for a week or so, I haven't really noticed any drastic changes on my face except that they are more hydrated than they used to.
My overall rating for this product? A 3 out of 5. It is something that is good and works well but the cons of using this product just outweighs its pros for me. True, snail essence or slime does have wonderful properties but I don't like to spend that much time slapping containers dispensing products or doing the 3 step process. Can you just imaging my night time routine if I have the entire line? My night time skin care routine is already long as it is without the 3 step process. Plus, I'm definitely not fond of the icky, sticky face in the morning.
Well I hope you find this review helpful if you're in the market to try out this line from Nature Republic - don't let those hot boys suck you into buying skin care products without reading thorough reviews! Oh, I'm such a hypocrite... I sometimes buy products because of the people who endorses them. But oh well, I still hope you read my reviews! ^^
