Natural Hair Care with My Honey Child Hair Products   After a week of battling a respiratory infection, which involved sweating my hair out under the blankets and coughing my lungs up, I felt pretty gross. My skin was dry, my face was peeling and my hair was a mess! I knew I needed an at-home spa day to get myself together and my hair definitely needed some TLC so, I decided to use the time to try out the My Honey Child samples that I recently received, and I'm glad I did!

Banana Crème Scalp Cleanser, Honey and Horsetail Reconstructor and Cognac &Vanilla Bean Hair Texturizer

Step #1: Banana Crème Scalp Cleanser
I started out by cleansing my hair with the Banana Crème Scalp Cleanser. The cleanser came in a bright yellow hue and had a very distinct banana smell that was very similar to a banana crème custard or banana flavored Laffy Taffy, yum! The banana scented cleanser had a nice, thick consistency and was easy to apply to my hair without it running everywhere. The cleanser was low-sudsing and didn't leave my hair feeling stripped of any moisture at all. In fact, my hair actually felt soft and moisturized and my scalp felt exceptionally clean. I had a lot of product build-up and after two good washes my hair felt a lot more refreshed.

Step #2: Honey and Horsetail Reconstructor
I followed up with the Honey and Horsetail Reconstructor as my deep conditioner. I applied the product in sections and worked it from the roots to the ends of my hair. I applied a plastic conditioning cap and although the product said to leave it in for about 15 minutes, I actually left it in for about 40 minutes.  After I rinsed the Honey and Horsetail reconstructor  from my hair, I immediately noticed that my hair was softer and easier to detangle. Just what I needed for my thirsty roots!

Step #3: Cognac & Vanilla Bean Texturizer
I decided to apply the Cognac & Vanilla Bean Texturizer to my hair in sections. I didn't immediately notice a difference in the definition of my curls but the label stated that the product would "allow pliable hold, separate and support hair". I decided to just use it as a leave-in conditioner because it contained beneficial ingredients and isn't a product that you have to wash out. I used the Cognac texturizer as the first step of my L.O.C. method routine, followed by a carrot oil blend and then Shea Butter. I twisted my hair and the following morning, my hair was super soft, defined and smelled lovely!

The Cognac & Vanilla Bean Hair Texturizer was the icing on the cake and worked well as a leave-in conditioner and holding aid for defined twist-outs.
