Me and my other half had been together for 4 years, living together for 1 year. We where very happy together but there was something missing, we where just relaxing 1 day and my partner asked me if I wanted to have his baby, I was over the moon. I’ve always wanted children since I can remember but he wasn’t so keen on the idea. For the next year we tried for our baby, but it didn’t seem to happen. We were starting to think that something was wrong with either one or both of us.
Each month passed and a period came with each one. I was bleeding heavily one day and in a lot of pain, I could barely breath the whole night was agony. The next day I was fine and didn’t think anything of it, the next month passed but to my surprise there was no bleeding. I was rather shocked but the 1st chance I got I did the test.
I sat there on my own waiting for the result to come through as I was at my mums, there it was 2 lines showing pregnant.
I was in shock and couldn’t believe my eyes, I waited for my mom to get up and did another test and got her to look at it, she told me what I already knew I was pregnant and a big smile went across my face.
I was going to be a mummy
I was straight on the phone to my partner and told him, I could hear the delight in his voice as he was over the moon we had finally done it, we were going to be parents.
We had a doctors appointment the following week where I was refferd to the midwife, a few weeks later we got a letter from the hospital for our scan and on the 31st of December . We got to see our baby for the first time, he was gorgeous even though it was just a picture everything was finally real. I was 18 weeks gone and we were having a boy, that was a shock as it was our first scan. My pregnancy went along without any problems and the due date approached.
It was my last midwife appointment and I had been up early in pain with my back, I sat talking to my friend and we both said I was in labor, how right we were. I went to the midwife appointment and told her she didn’t think anything of it so I just left it at that and went home and made a start on out tea.
At 6 oclock I felt funny and my waters broke, I know something wasn’t right they where green and lumpy
I was so scared
I phoned the midwife, she said to call the unit. We got told to go straight in to the hospital, the tea was nearly finished as we left the house my partners friend was stillsat there waiting for his tea, that’s was a funny part to it all . We arrived at the hospital and every contraction got worse and worse, the midwife checked me and put me on the monitor, I was about 3cm when the midwife then turned to us and said our baby wast coping with the contractions and that she was going to fetch the doctor.
That’s when the real panic set in, I thought we were about to lose our son
I was scared as I was examined and scanned and told that my baby was breach and needed to come out as soon as possible as he had pooed and wasn’t happy. As I lay there signings the papers to say I would have a c section I was terrified.
They wheeled me away from my partner and took me to theater where I was given a spinal before my partner finally got to come to be at my side. As the pulling and tugging began I lay there watching my partner and i saw just how scared he was (id not even thought about how he must have been feeling till this point). He held my hand and smiled as we finally heard our little boy cry and saw a little green alien, yes he was covered head to toe in poo so lovely.
My little boy was healthy and I finally relaxed as he was given to us and we where so happy.
