My Dilemma with Google: Innovation VS Privacy

Google and Privacy

Google is a force to be reckoned with in this new universe called the Internet.  They are everywhere, they do everything and when you thought that was all Google did, they do even more.

I like Google for who and what they are.  They believe in constant innovation and productivity.  They always try and make our experiences better and faster.  The best thing for me they’ve done after search was developing the Android system.  A great competitor against companies like Apple.

But sometimes I can’t help think if Google is just power hungry.  I mean it’s scary for an organisation like that to have such a strong growth year on year and own the most valuable currency today…..information.  And that’s what bothers me.

I even had to think twice about joining Google+.They see my searches, they have my credit card numbers, they have my browsing data, my emails, and my blog data.  All of it stored in their servers somewhere and “used” to send tailored advertising messages to me.

I want Google to develop new things every time but I might have to pay for it with my personal information.Google itself might not be that evil but what if all that information falls into the wrong hands?

Or what if bigger corporations like the US government demand all that data so that they can keep a closer eye on us.Truth is I can’t avoid using Google’s services, but I can only hope I’m not a victim this digital age.
