My Baseball Nightmare

By Meachrm @BaseballBTYard

For as long as I can remember I’ve had the same recurring dream.  Actually, it’s more of a nightmare.  It’s

Yes, baseball nightmares are a real thing

always some version of the following.

I get called up to the major leagues and I’m the first to arrive at the field on the big day.  My uniform is in my locker and everything is perfect … until I realize I left my glove or spikes or hat at home.  I quickly head home to get what I am missing.  And that’s when the nightmare begins.  I run into tons of traffic.  I can’t get into my house.  I can’t find what I’m looking for.  And on and on.  When I finally get back to the field, the game is over and I’ve missed my chance.  It’s not a fun dream.

The other day I’m getting breakfast ready for my 6 year old son and he comes downstairs to tell me he had a bad dream.  I asked him what the dream was about.  You guessed it …

“Dad, I got to the field but I couldn’t find my glove.  I looked everywhere for it and when I finally found it, the game was over.  It was horrible.”

I feel ya bro.

If there is someone out there who analyzes dreams, maybe you can tell me what this all means.  On second thought … don’t.  I probably don’t want to know.
