I am a huge Federer fan, how could I not be? He plays the game as it should be played with an elegance, poise and balance like no other. I rooted for him in the Wimbledon final and applauded his 17th slam victory. But I want Andy Murray to win the Olympic singles gold, Murray has been so close on so many occasions yet just fallen short. I hope that the gold medal will go some way to erasing the pain of 4 successive slam final defeats. The tears we saw during the presentation ceremony really made a massive impact on not just me but everybody who watched. We got a glimpse of the real Andy Murray the guy that busts his gut day in day out to win, the guy that does 20 x 400m on 75secs with the same recovery. This is his life and yeh he may have the money and fame that he may never worry about where his next meal is coming from but he has been given a talent and I would love to see him achieve his dreams.
Andy Murray deserves this title more than anyone. It is his home patch and the atmosphere will rival the Davis Cup so I dearly hope that they can inspire him to victory. He and Laura Robson also take on the Belorussians in the mixed doubles final. Having showed fantastic bravery courage and skill to make the final, I too would love to see the Brits lift the gold. Laura Robson has demonstrated her fantastic talent this week and in Andy Murray she has the perfect foil. Heres hoping for a Murray Double Olympic Gold.
