At least I know my friends missed me

So I am home. I've been gone for 2 1/2 weeks. The kids have spent that time declaring their love via Facebook, phone and email. I arrived home late Saturday night, itching to wake my babies up so that I could squeeze the life out of them and then instruct them to immediately fall back to sleep for at least 8 - 10 hours. #1Hubby wouldn't let me do that. Something about a fat chance in hell of it working. And so I hardly slept as I waited for Sunday morning and their excited, loved up little bodies cramming into bed with me for the first time in 2 1/2 weeks. I was all moist in the optic region at the mere thought of it. Sunday morning, approximately 7:15am Miss4 walks straight past me to the lounge. Mistr4 runs up screaming "MUMMY! MUMMY! MUMM!" and stops about a foot away from me, because the TV's come into view and Adventure Time is on. Miss7 traipses downstairs about 15 minutes later.  Straight to the fridge, then the lounge.  Doesn't even register my presence. So I jump up and down in the middle of the lounge room, squealing "HI BABIES! MUMMY'S HOME!  I MISSED YOU GUYS SOOOOO MUCH!" Nothing. Nada. Zip. Mini MoFo's.... So I drag in the suitcase and open it up with much dramatic effort. Suddenly they all light up. MUMMY! YOU'RE BACK! WE MISSED YOU! All said to the open suitcase, eyes firmly planted on the contents. Hello Kitty is adoringly squealed. Angry Birds are mentioned excitedly. Sparkly nail polish and make up are enquired after with much enthusiasm. I am yet to receive eye contact. And so I commence shoving each gift down my jumper, so that they must physically connect with me to get their gifts. I am going to call it hugging.  We were hugging while exchanging gifts. So clearly they are used to me going away. Not a hint of separation anxiety. Not even a hint of excitement that I'm home again. And also a new game.  One where they take turns calling each other Mummy. WTF?! Am I that easily forgotten and replaced? Nicely played on the guilt front kids, nicely played. I can see that I am going to have to bring them all ponies next time.
