MuseumsQuartier Vienna Fashion Week just ended recently in the Austrian capital. Taking place in the city’s “MuseumNeighborhood”, the event brought together several brands that showcased their latest collections.
While the shows were overwhelmingly focused on women’s fashion, there were also lots and lots of great menswear looks on the Viennese runway.

Handmade Story by Barbara Alli
“Impactful” is probably the best way to describe the Handmade Story by Barbara Alli show, as models in vibrant African prints walked down the runway in the Austrian capital. We especially loved the mixes of clothes with ethnic prints and clothes with solid neutrals such as brown.
ClausTyler
Last year’s ClausTyler show was a stunning womenswear show with great pieces. This year, the label unveiled a collection of menswear pieces among women’s clothes, which left us truly wanting more.
Mads Dinesen
Dressy and relaxed is how we’d describe the Mads Dinesen MQVFW show. With bright colors and flowing garments, the label definitely offered a great and original view on classic casual and resort menswear pieces.
HLMW9 Michelbeuern
The Michelbeuern Fashion School put together a dynamic show consisting of many interesting menswear pieces among the predominant women’s clothing. It was great to discover what the next generation of fashion designers has to say!
Piotr Paulson
Urban underground designer Piotr Paulson showcased a bold collection of pieces that were very rock and roll and very catchy at the same time. The details of the clothes were definitely interesting and elevated the garments from simple store items to runway-ready pieces.
Romani
Inspired by European nomad culture, Romani made the best of colorful prints and print mixes for their show during the 2016 edition of MuseumsQuartier Vienna Fashion Week. The brand showed that flowers and stripes do go together.
Shakkei
It was an elegant and casual show from Shakkei this year at MQVFW. What we really enjoyed about their show was the use of dressy details on casual items.
SO LCH LD CLOTHING
The collection showcased by SO LCH LD CLOTHING had a great resort vibe to it. It was light and elegant, but very casual and versatile at the same time.
TrueYou
Fashion house TrueYou reinterpreted men’s essentials for their latest collection. The brand set out to make comfort chic and pulled it off with flying colors.
All in all, there was something for every taste and preference in terms of menswear at this year’s edition of MuseumsQuartier Vienna Fashion Week. It’s really great that menswear is gaining a lot of territory in the fashion world without scaling down the world of women’s fashion. It’s an expansion we love and that we enjoy to see grow.
