MQM to Sit on Opposition Benches in Center, Sindh

Farooq SattarThe Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has decided to part its ways from Pakistan People’s Party government in center and Sindh and will sit on opposition benches in both federal and provincial assembly.

The decision was announced by Dr Farooq Sattar at a press conference held at the party’s headquarters nine-zero on Saturday.

Sattar said that the decision was final and will not be changed. He blamed that the obstacles has had been placed in the work of MQM ministers.

The MQM leader further said that PPP deprived the local body system and it has not been restored yet, adding the people of Sindh have been left on the mercy of bureaucracy.

Sattar said if MQM previously leave the government then the blame of conclusion of PPP government would be held it. He said they have fulfilled the duty of completion of five years of government and are now parting their ways from PPP.

Sattar further said that leaving the past bitterness behind, the MQM jointed PPP government and backed it on difficult times but its attitude wasn’t good. He said that they were optimistic that PPP will learn lessons from past.

He said government has failure to maintain peace in Karachi, and by constituting Aman Committee, the PPP has given it free hand to the gun down the general public and MQM workers.

He further told that cases against Lyari gand war terrorists have been withdrawn and despite of revelation of the video of killing the people, the government is not arresting the murderers.
