Motorola Preparing the Moto G2

Posted on the 22 July 2014 by Anna Peterson

We’ve already learned that Motorola is working on the Moto X+1, but now we’ve got some info that the company seems to be preparing the successor to the Moto G, called the Motorola Moto G2.

The leaked photo comes from a Spanish website called Mellando no Android and they claim that they have an inside scoop on the new version of the Moto G. The image in question shows what seems to be a prototype of the Moto G2, with a front-facing speaker and earpiece, similar to the Moto E’s design.

Other specs include a 720p resolution screen, a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, an Adreno 305 GPU, an 8-megapixel rear camera, and support for two SIM cards. The specifications sound quite similar to the ones found in the original Moto G, with the exception of a better camera.

Motorola’s yet to confirm anything, so take these specs lightly and bear in mind that a lot can change until its official release. The Moto G is the company’s most successful and popular smartphone to this date, so the G2 definitely has some big shoes to fill.

Naturally, as soon as we’ve got more info about the Moto G’s successor, we’ll let you know!
