Most Anticipated Upcoming [mobile] Games

Posted on the 30 September 2012 by Ningauble @AliAksoz

It’s been more than a couple of years since game developers for smartphones actually brought GAMES on the mobile platforms. Aye, snake was a smashing success but let’s face it, a sequel for Snake won’t make us tremble with excitement. So mobile platforms like iOS and Android have their game legends by now. Games like Angry Birds, Infinity Blade and Where’s My Water are already in the gaming Hall of Fame. So we gamers have things to look forward to.

Here are some that we added to our watch lists:

Oceanhorn: Monster of Uncharted Seas

Most anticipated upcoming [mobile] games

Oceanhorn looks and feels like old console adventure games, where you explored the world and solved puzzles and followed dusty maps to find treasures from the remains of old temples and castles.

Oceanhorn is an ancient sea monster that terrorizes the World of Uncharted Seas. The game puts you in the boots of a nameless hero who, in order to save his sister, must slay this monster for good. In this game, the world is open for exploration by foot or by boat, but beware – the sea monster can attack at any time and ill-prepared travelers will meet their early demise.

Shadowrun Returns

Most anticipated upcoming [mobile] games

Shadowrun Returns is a cyberpunk tactical role-playing video game under development by Harebrained Schemes, an indie game publisher led byJordan Weisman, the creator of the Shadowrun tabletop role-playing game. The game has an estimated delivery date of January 2013, and is to be available as a DRM-free download.

A rich 2D turn-based single player game with deep story interaction, meaningful character development, and highly-contextual tactical combat, Shadowrun Returns is not only going to make some old geeks (like us) very happy but it will introduce new players to a dynamic gaming universe that is beloved around the world.

Star Command

Most anticipated upcoming [mobile] games

Star Command is a spaceship management game for iOS, Android and now for PC/Mac. It’s an upcoming space ship-simulation-adventure game where you build an interstellar starship of your own unique image. You choose the colors, the hull types, the size and most importantly, who and what goes inside. Engine rooms, medical bays, shield generators – the choice is yours.

I’m very excited about this one. It reeks of old adventure-RPG games which is an awesome thing. Do you remember that feeling when we were playing Death Knights of Krynn or Powermonger or Daggerfall? That freedom and excitement? Star Command may be just like that.
