More Than Magic

More Than Magic
I have always been one who believed in magic. Perhaps not in a literal sense, but I've always had a strong desire to believe in something more. To allow myself to wonder, to dream, to believe that magical things could happen. I actually know that they can, I know that remarkable things have happened all throughout history. So when I received the following text from my friend, Christine, last night, I was humbled. The fact that she could see magic within me... It was everything I've ever wanted...

"It dawned on me that I've pictured you that way for a while. From your mystical music, your quiet/calm temperament, the clicking of your high heels, your clothes, my memories of your black dress flowing behind you the evening you were capturing fireflies or helping a huge wounded butterfly. The fact that you have an affinity for old objects and live near the cutest little forsaken beach town. I feel like you're from a book; a character that you can't be sure is magical but really hope is."

That is perhaps the best compliment I have ever received... I hope that you, too, can feel a sense of magic and wonder when visiting my blog.

Today I am taking a step forward in my life, one that will, in a humble way, grow this "magical" (spiritual) side of me. I am going through the DC Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for the first time today, to receive my Endowment... I never expected to be where I am when taking this step in my life... But now that it is happening, I wouldn't want it any other way. I have never been more spiritually prepared and disconnected from the world as I have been this year. The Lord has a plan for all of us, and He knew that I would have the best experience now.
