In case Stereogum’s 24-song summer mixtape wasn’t enough, Tyler, the Creator, of Odd Future, has released his second summer’s worth of songs. This, too, includes plenty of cuts for you to play at whatever barbecue you’re hosting throughout the rest of this summer.
One of my favorite songs comes up on this mix: Sleigh Bells’ “Rill Rill.” That song in itself is enough to get me excited for summer, plus Tyler seems to have plenty of new obsessions to play with. These are songs that didn’t make the 2011 cut, so while there are some new songs, plenty are right out of 2011. Especially noticeable is Tyler’s obsession with Toro Y Moi, as he not only includes them on the tape but has also been tweeting about them constantly since the tape’s release on July 3.
