Truth be told, I am so looking forward to the days ahead, coz :
(1) the days are now warmer versus last week's.
(2) the days are now longer days which is kinda giving me major stay-healthy goals.
(3) the much-needed upcoming Chicago trip is almost around the corner.
(4) and the trend line up for this spring/summer is super exciting, especially the fancy-shmancy sleeve trend.
This season the quintessential blouse's sleeves have undergone a major transformation and it is pretty spine-tingling. With small to super-sized bell and ruffle sleeves, there is something for every closet. With so many options available, it was impossible to talk about each in one single post, so I've decided to dedicate this whole week, aka three posts, to this season's fun sleeves.....
The first type to gain spotlight is this tiered ruffle sleeve blouse from Banana Republic. With the cinched cuff, it is a modern twist to the old Victorian blouse. The gingham print further gives the Victorian blouse a fun upgrade. The boat-neck, the tiered-sleeve and the waist-sash make this blouse anything but boring.
Today, I paired the blouse with my favorite DIY'd jeans ( post HERE ) and a crisp black boyfriend blazer- another must-have this season, and finished off with a killer pair of lace-up heels and a contemporary clutch. Result- an outfit that can be easily taken from desk-to-dinner on a casual Friday, or worn in a semi-formal work environment like mine.
I've already planned a few other looks around this blouse: with a skirt and then with a pair of culottes being the next ones to make it here. This is just my take on this spring-summer trend, how would you style this fun eclectic trend?
