Smartphones are no longer restricted to the hands of grownups. Even school going kids now consider smartphones as an absolute necessity in their life. But there’s one big problem. I know several children who owned their own smartphones and tabs before they even stepped into senior school. But while more and more parents are giving smart devices to their kids, they can’t help but worry about their kids spending more time with their gadgets than with their books. Well, whether you are a parent, or a kid with a smart gadget, here’s one app that might delight you both.
Here’s an app launched by Meritnation.com. Meritnation.com is a website that makes study materials available online for all classes of various Indian boards. Now they have made their services available as a smartphone app as well. This app is available for Android and iOS devices.
I tried the Android app and found the interface quite easy. Before using the app, I had to register by giving my name, email and phone number. I also set the Board of education and Class of my choice. I was registered as a free user. As a free user, I could use the feature that provides Answers to the questions given in the text books prescribed for the class I had chosen. For the questions I tried, the answers were brief, but to the point. The answers are there for objective, subjective and even questions that require creative answers. In subjects like Maths, the Answers include all the steps needed to get to the solution of the mathematical problem.
Price: Free to download, but many features restricted as per paid study packages.
Online Only: The app can’t be used in an offline mode. The user has to be online to use it.
Paid Packages: The free user account provides access to only the solutions of the questions given in the text books. To access more in-depth study material, practice exercises etc. a paid account is needed. Several options for paid packages are available, beginning from the default free account to the package costing Rs. 5500 which makes available all the features of the app.
So, if you are looking for a handy study guide for quick reference, than this app might be worth a try.
