Misterwives’ Sam Smith Cover is the Best Thing You’ll Hear Today [free Mp3]

Clearly we’re obsessed with MisterWives, and we’re excited to hear Sam Smith’s debut full-length this summer which is sure to blow up, so naturally we were thrilled to hear MisterWives cover of Sam Smith’s “Money On My Mind” from his Nirvana EP. It’s always interesting to hear a male-fronted song through female vocal chords (especially Mandy Lee’s!) and the switch up from sparkling electronic to homespun pop is so satisfying, especially in the context of the lyrics: “I don’t got money on my  mind, money on my mind/I do it for, I do it for the love,” which is the core reason we’re obsessed with indie music in the first place. Basically MisterWives are a bunch of brilliant badasses to cover this song and throw in a little Biggie while they’re at it — this cover is righteous.
