Milani Conceal + Perfect 2 in 1 Foundation + Concealer Review and Swatches

By Kwilliford @ExquisiteEczema
I have noticed a lot of people raving about this foundation, and I figured I should give it a try. It was a near impossible task to find my shade, which is Creamy Vanilla. But after a couple of weeks, I finally found it. Now I have been using it off and on for a little over a month. Unfortunately, I don't like it as much as most people.

Milani says that this foundation is oil free, lightweight, water resistant, long wearing, sweat-proof, and it offers medium to full coverage. While all of this is actually true, I have some big issues with this foundation.
For starters, the lightest shade is going to be WAY too dark for most fair and lighter skinned gals. I have found ways to work around this, so I can still use it. It also oxidizes almost instantly, and again, I have worked around that. But it makes the foundation more difficult to work with than others in my collection. I will usually lightly dust my L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Powder over it and it will look decent enough for me to wear out of the house. This isn't a foundation you can just slap on before going out the door. It takes some patience.

I do like the coverage of this foundation, which I would describe as being medium. I have acne scars all over my cheeks and this does a good job at covering up most of the redness. I have tried various methods of application, but it always looks a little bit patchy in some areas. It is especially bad around my nose, and I have noticed some slight settling in fine lines. The texture feels very thick and creamy. Before applying it to your face, the foundation feels like it would be suffocating for your skin. Surprisingly it feels lightweight, but you know it is there. It takes quite awhile to dry down, so applying any kind of product can be a huge hassle. When I go to apply bronzer, blush, or even a setting powder, I can see where the foundation moves around and becomes even more patchy in some areas. That is the number one thing that drives me crazy about this product. I can work around the shade, but I don't want to wait around for my foundation to dry down.

Oh, and it can be a little bit streaky. It isn't that bad, but it is something to be mindful of.  It does look nice on camera, though. One pump also dispenses a lot of product and it is more than enough to cover your entire face.
It does stay on pretty well, though. It does get a little bit oily by the end of the day (even with my trusty Armani Prima primer), but it is still there. My favorite thing about this product is the packaging. It is glass and it has a really nice pump. It is also nice that you can see the color on the bottom half of the bottle and it looks like a higher end product.

The price is good, too. It is just under $10 and you get 1 oz of product. Sadly, I just cannot recommend it. It has good coverage and lasts all day, but I can't deal with the patchiness and the slip while applying other products. And of course the lightest shade is still dark and it oxidizes terribly. I will still use it from time to time, though.
I do have a couple of foundations that I will be reviewing soon that I do really like and I think you will, too.
I am also thinking about doing an FOTD post on this look since I used one of the new NYX Ultimate Shadow Palettes. If I do decide on that, it will be up soon after this post.
See you soon!
