Microsoft Unveils Surface 2 with Great Features You Can’t Resist

Microsoft has just announced it’s second generation Surface tablets, Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2. While the new set of tablets seems to have the same old looks, Microsoft promises 75% more battery life and faster performance with new Surface 2 tablets.

Slightly thinner Surface 2 features a 10.6-inch 1080p Full HD display and runs on NVIDIA’s Tegra 4 processor. Cameras on the device has also been replaced with improved 3.5-megapixel front camera and 5-megapixel rear camera. Microsoft touts Surface Pro 2 to be “a true laptop replacement, capable of running virtually all your Windows software including the full Microsoft Office suite,” as it gets powered by Intel’s 4th generation Core i5 CPU. Surface 2 will ship with Windows RT 8.1 and Surface Pro 2 with Windows 8.1.

To make Surface 2 more interesting, Microsoft has included a whole bunch of great services including free international Skype calling for 1 year, 200 GB of free SkyDrive storage for 2 years and offers a new series accessories like a Car Charger, TouchCover 2, TypeCover 2, and PowerCover that comes with a built-in battery and a keyboard. Arc Touch Mouse Surface Edition is another great new device that adds value to Surface 2. It gets powered by Bluetooth 4.0 and aims to make working on these tablets much faster and easier.

Pre-orders for new Surface 2 tablets are now open. The devices will head out in stores on October 22, 2013. Surface 2 will be available in 32GB and 64GB options with a price starting at $449 and Surface Pro 2 will head out in 64GB and 128GB, starting at $899.
