Meditate to a Better Life

Posted on the 06 February 2013 by Operatingroomblog
Meditation has been around for ages, back to 5th centuries BCE (Before Common Era), then evolves to spiritual practice and different techniques over the years to date. What interest me was what I read about meditation is used nowadays in successful people; to calm the mind, strengthen resilience, makes better decisions and becoming more successful overtime. (Wikipedia) It actually trains our daily busy mind to just take a break, a break from all those tasks, stress, deadlines. For just 5 to 20 mins daily, the mind can be trained, can be calmed, can be restored. There was a research from UCLA Laboratory of Neuro Imaging, that suggested meditation enlarges the gray matters in human brain; whereby it will actually make our brains bigger, faster and younger. (Wheeler,  2012) Because of my impulsive and easily-angry personality, I think I will try out meditation to mellow down the fire inside, so that better choices are made and my family members do not need to suffer my moody nuisance.
