The iconic polished aluminum skin on American Airlines’ jets, dating from the 1960’s, will soon be a distant memory.  American Airlines expects all airplanes to have new AA livery by end of 2017, four years after their merger with US Airways.  This airframe won’t be seeing the new livery though since the type is scheduled for retirement in 2017.  American operates 44 of these MD-82’s in their fleet.  Nikon D7100 w/80-400 mm, processed with Aperture.
