Mayor of Toronto Admits “Probably” Reading While Driving On Expressway

By Nottheworstnews @NotTheWorstNews

According to CBC, City of Toronto Mayor Rob Ford admitted he was “probably” reading while driving on a city expressway, after a photo of him behind the wheel, with a document in his hand appeared on Twitter. Folks, sometimes the comedy just writes itself. Here’s an excerpt from CBC:

Reporter: “Sir, there’s a picture that went out on Twitter this morning of you reading while still driving on the Gardiner [Expressway].”

Ford: “Yeah, probably. I’m busy.”

Reporter: “So you read while driving?”

Ford: “Yeah, probably, yeah. I’m try[ing] to catch up on my work and you know I keep my eyes on the road, but I’m a busy man.”

Reporter: “You don’t see a problem doing that on the Gardiner?”

Ford: “Well, I’m busy. I got to be — I don’t know what that has to do with a trade mission, but anyways. Ridiculous questions sometimes, seriously.”

3 Worse Things Toronto Mayor Rob Ford Could Be Reading While Driving Than A Document

1. The “Safe and Responsible” section of Ontario’s Online Driver’s Handbook that says ”But you need to do more than just obey the rules…” This would likely be the kind of ironic foreshadowing we see in those Final Destination movies that never seem to deliver the final sequel we hope for.

A Toronto street gated off perhaps because the Mayor has just discovered the Hunger Games.

2. A photo on Twitter of the Mayor reading while driving, followed by a photo on Twitter of the Mayor reading the original Tweet of him driving. All of these photos would be interrupting his ability to read the latest tweets about the belly dancers at the Sultan’s Tent Restaurant, one of the 1,300 or so things Rob Ford is following on Twitter at the time of writing this.

3. One of the books in Mad Magazine’s “Snappy Answers To Stupid Questions” series. Why is this worse? Because the book is filled with real stupid questions, not fair ones like “You don’t see a problem with reading and driving on an expressway?” So all of the snappy answers might inspire the mayor to respond with an answer like “Of course I don’t see a problem with that because I’m too busy reading while driving to see anything!”
