Maybelline Colour Tattoo 24hr

By Behindtheseclosedeyes @theseclosedeyes
I really didn't think I would be one of the people caught up in the Maybelline Colour Tattoo hype as I am a dedicated user of my MUA palettes and MAC paint pot (yes, just one) but of course I caved when I saw these pretty shades pop up in blog sales a while ago. I ended up receiving both a US version of the cream eyeshadow and our western version, Bad to the Bronze and Permanent Taupe respectively, and I have to say I have been loving them so far!

The cream eyeshadows come in small glass jars extremely similar to that of MAC Paint Pots which I really like as it gives that extra touch of luxury, although probably not the most suitable for traveling. I have found the formulas of these two to be slightly different as Bad to the Bronze is a lot more solid in the jar but once applied is very easy to blend and leaves a cream finish, while Permanent Taupe is softer in the jar but not as easy to blend as I've found it to come out a little patchy sometimes. Weird, I know, but there must be some difference in production method between the US and Western version of the cream eyeshadow or simply between the shades themselves. Speaking of the shades, I am loving the color of these cream shadows as Bad to the Bronze gives you a subtle bronze pop of color to the eye without being too overpowering or in your face, and Permanent Taupe provides a great everyday taupe color (as the name would suggest, duh Kirsty) which can be built up to create a more dramatic smokey eye if required.
I would say that the Maybelline Colour Tatoo 24 hr cream shadows are a great alternative to MAC Paint Pots (£14.50) and at a fraction of the price I can't see any reason to go stray from Maybelline now, although the color selection from MAC is far superior and offers many more neutral shades with a number of different finishes. Have you been a fan of the Maybelline Colour Tattoo cream eyeshadows?
