Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser | How to reduce the appearance of pores

I have been wanting to try Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser for the longest time. So much buzz around this product I wanted to try this out at the earliest. So the first chance I got I bought it. I bought mine at Ulta along with some other makeup goodies. If you want to see what all I got along with this primer I am going to link my US haul video.

So lets begin the review.

What the product claims:

Instantly blurs the looks of pores, without clogging them,

Transparent gel formula smooths on clear,

Smooths and refines skin’s appearance

Non comedogenic and fragrance free.

What is a primer and do you really need a primer?

A primer is like a base you apply before you apply your foundation. Most primers are silicone based, not all though, silicone helps create a smooth base which makes the makeup apply smoother and also makes the makeup stay longer. A primer also helps in smoothing the texture of the skin, hence it helps blur the appearance of large pores and uneven skin texture due to acne scarring.

A primer is not an essential part of makeup routine but if you do have skin issues that need extra attention or if you want to add the extra step sometimes to get that flawless looking skin look then primer is your best friend. I have dry skin so I dont always have the need to apply primer to increase the longevity of my makeup though I like to create an even surface for my foundation to go on smoothly so I prefer to apply primer mostly on the areas that have uneven texture on my face.

How to apply a Primer:

A primer is supposed to be applied after you apply your moisturizer and sunscreen. And before you apply your foundation or bb cream.

Coming back to Maybelline Baby skin instant pore eraser can be used as a primer before applying your foundation as well as it can be used alone. It can be used alone since it is a clear gel formula so once you blend it onto the skin it doesnt have any cast. Unlike the Urban Decay face primer and Loreal primer, the maybelline primer is not hydrating so if you have dry skin dont count on the primer to provide you any extra hydration.

Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser Primer

Maybelline Baby skin pore eraser definitely blurs the appearance of pores. I do not have large or noticeable pores to begin with but around my nose I do have some pores that are now showing up so it does help to blur them, and I also feel it makes the foundation go on a lot smoother, I did not feel the foundation sliding off or not applying properly.

Maybelline instant pore eraser has been compared to several high end primers and for the price it does a decent job.

As I mentioned earlier I have dry skin so makeup usually lasts longer on me anyway but I did notice after applying this primer that my makeup did stay in place for longer, like my blush and bronzer were holding up a bit longer. So if you have oily skin that is not very sensitive this primer will surely help your makeup to stay longer.
