May 2017 Goals

I've been struggling to stick to my monthly goals all year. I think it might be because I don't have a clear fitness goal in my head. In the past, I made it my mission to complete a specific strength training program or train for a race. Right now, I don't have any races on my calendar, and I think I'm struggling to find a fitness routine I really enjoy. Last month, I tried to get into Kayla's Bikini Body Guide... again. I've tried to get into this program a few times, and for some reason, I never make it past week four. The program calls for three workouts a week. I averaged two a week (along with some runs). I'm feeling guilty for not giving it all I've got, but maybe I'm just not that into the workouts. Maybe it's time to try something completely new.

I'm also struggling when it comes to nutrition. I eat really well during the week, but then the weekend comes and all I want to do is sit out in the gorgeous weather and brunch and lunch and wine and dine. That means I don't workout on the weekends (I used to do long runs on Saturdays or Sundays), I'm not eating all that well on the weekends, and I'm not nearly as good at meal prep as I'd like.

It's possible I'm being too hard on myself. Maybe I just need to find a goal that excites me. Maybe I need to get a race on the calendar or sign up for some classes. I don't feel like I'm in a funk anymore, but I do feel like I need to get my workout mojo back.

So my only goal this month is to find a type of workout or program that gets me excited to pop out of bed in the morning. That's it. I think the nutrition will follow once I have something I feel like I can stay devoted to.

If there's a type of workout you love or a program that you stuck with, I'd love to hear about it! And of course, I want to hear all about your Wild Workout Wednesday Adventures.
