May 2 Health and Beauty Pick: Luna Bars

By Nicelise
May 2 Health and Beauty Pick: Luna BarsAs I've mentioned before, I usually snack all day long rather than eat three meals a day. I used to eat some sort of breakfast bar each morning, until I looked at the nutrition label and realized all I was eating was sugar and carbs.
That's when I discovered Luna Bars. They give me the satisfaction of a mid-morning snack similar to a breakfast bar, but make much more nutritional sense to eat. There are plenty of flavors, but my favorites are lemon zest and white chocolate macadamia.
The nutritional info varies from flavor to flavor, but they are typically 190 calories, only 7 grams of fat, 9 grams of protein and only 11 grams of sugar. These bars fill me up and another added bonus of them is that the ingredients are 70 percent organic.
While they tend to be about $5 for a box of 6 bars, you don't have to buy a whole box. At places like Target, you can buy individual bars to ensure that you like them before buys a box. You can also buy buy boxes of mini bars in multiple flavors.
